The cause of the fire, which caused about $100,000 in damage, leaving the 1,000-square-foot structure a total loss, was unknown, Hawaii Fire Department officials said. The house was located at 16-2027 35th Ave. in Pahoa. The owner was unknown as of Wednesday evening.
